#3 Kyle Ray led all 20 laps of the Mod Coupe feature at CNS (Starr photo) #5 Jason Bunt finished 2nd and #12 Jaime Bubak took over the season points lead with a 4th place finish. The race went green from start to checker and Muhler could never get past Ray who went on to win his 2nd Coupe feature at CNS. Eventually the two leaders would lap the entire field in their furious battle against one another. Muhler would pull right up on Ray’s bumper as the two cars entered the corner but Ray would regain a one car length advantage as they exited the corner. Ray led the race and Muhler was right on his tail lap after lap, after lap. It would take less than a lap for both Ray and Muhler to jump to the front of the field and the chase was on. The much anticipated battle between #3 Kyle Ray and #95 Cris Muhler the two fastest Mod Coupes would finally take place and both cars would start near the rear of the feature. On his way to his 2nd feature win of the night #58 Kyle Ray goes under race leader #24 Tim Holm in the Grand American Modified feature (Starr photo) Grazier settled for 4th and #0 Ron O’Neal was 5th. Points leader #44 Justin Case finished a distant 3rd. At the finish Ray took the win followed closely by Holm. Ray dove to the inside of Holm and the two cars put on a great side by side battle for the lead. On lap 9 Holm finally found his way around Grazier and took his turn leading the race but now Ray was in second place and was right on Holm’s bumper.

Super Late Model driver Emmet Grazier in the yellow #33 Grand American Modified jumped out to the early lead in the SUNOCO Fuels Grand American Modifieds feature event but but all eyes were on Kyle Ray in the #58 who was working his way to the front from the back of the field. Dempefwolf settled for 2nd in the feature, #84 Daniel Mares was 3rd, #3% Will Alvarado took the 4th spot and #48 Joe Mares rounded out the top 5. Yackey now has a commanding 51 point lead over #21w Jamie Ward. Yackey swept the evenings Pure Stock events winning the feature, the FAST DASH, and setting quick time with a 20.635 #32 Brett Yackey battle #06 Jeff Dempewolf for the lead. A late race caution gave Dempewolf a final shot at Yackey for the win and it looked like Dempewolf might have something for “the Maverick” but couldn’t make the pass and Yackey went on to take the checker.
